Nice Cushions CANCELLED

STOP PRESS --- STOP PRESS --- STOP PRESS --- STOP PRESS

We just got the following message from the event organisers:

-------------------------------
Unfortunately we have to pull this event because the Magnet have double booked us. We apologise to all concern and will try to reschedule for later in the summer, but we've literally been told at 10pm tonight by Magnet, in a startling display of professionism.

Sorry again, and we will try and bring you the brilliance of Nice Cushions as soon as we can.
-------------------------------

So if you're at a loose end on Thursday 29th May then why not go along to the Sound City acoustic gig at 3345 Parr Street.

Acoustic artists at the IPO

This year's International Pop Overthrow is in full swing and there are a number of acoustic artists playing at the festival this year, from 20th to 26th May. As well as local performers such as Tony Kehoe, The Great Northwestern Hoboes, Sam Kearney, and The Alun Parry Band, there are also a number of acoustic performers from further afield.

Playing on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th are Scotland's finest alt-folk pop band Dropkick. Also playing on Sunday 25th is Bristol's Roger Tarry.

This music festival has something for everyone, and the best thing is that it's all FREE!!!

Visit http://www.internationalpopoverthrow.com/schedule-Liverpool-2008.htm for a full list of artists, locations and times.

Hello all,

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came along to The View

We will be doing another gig in September, in a bigger venue with the full
set up again, strings, piano and a few new tunes. I'll keep you posted when
the dates confirmed.

Please check out a review from The View Two Gallery gig at

Any open mic nights in Crosby/Waterloo?

One visitor to the Liverpool Acoustic website is asking if there are any open mic nights in the Crosby or Waterloo areas of Sefton, north of Liverpool.

If you know of anything acoustic going on in this area then let us know and we'll add the information to the diary and pass it on to the person who asked the original question.

Stephen Langstaff's Carling Academy gig

This message just in from Stephen Langstaff.

Hi everyone,

I've got my 2nd headline show at Liverpool's Carling Academy 1 coming up on Saturday 14th June. Hope you can come to it! It's the biggest gig I've ever done and I'm rallying the troops for it early this time. The last one was great and this time we're going for a sell out (if we can get at least 800 people down the Carling are going to let me and the band do a tour of the country!). It's easily going to be the biggest and best gig we've ever played!

Tickets have already starting flying. They're only £6 - you can also get them on the web @ www.ticketweb.co.uk and at the Carling box office.

I've got tickets too and if you need any just email me and I'll get them to you no problems! Hope you can come down and support us!

Very exciting!!!!

Stephen
